¹ú²úÎÞÂë and GIS are delighted to announce our expansion to the Manchester Campus and changes to the location of our teaching facilities, which will be implemented from September 2023.  Ìý

Over the coming months, we will be making significant investments to expand and improve our facilities, representing an investment value of £16 million.  Ìý

This will see our students learning in dedicated educational facilities in Trafford, Salford and Tameside, as well as Manchester city centre. Ìý

The expansion is an exciting opportunity for us to create new communities of practice, launch a new events series, and foster partnerships that we hope will help our students to achieve their academic and career goals. Ìý

This follows the successful experience at Arch View House at our Wembley Campus, where we have created quality, dedicated teaching facilities as part of our growth strategy. Ìý

Here are some of the key highlights of our planned expansion: Ìý

  • New academic centres will be created to support our degree courses. These include: Ìý
  1. The Football and Sports Business Centre planned for Exchange Quay in Salford Quays, closely linked to employment partners within Manchester and Salford Ìý
  2. Our innovative Multimedia Centre based at Quay Plaza, MediaCityUK, which will be home to our media, journalism and broadcasting students Ìý
  3. Belle Vue Sports Village and Curzon Ashton FC will continue to host students on our coaching courses Ìý
  4. Additional learning facilities for all students will also be created at No.1 Old Trafford Ìý
  • Furthermore, we are developing new employer-led partnerships which will improve our students’ learning outcomes and employment opportunities Ìý
  • We also plan to create a home for our Student Union and Student Council at the heart of our Manchester Campus Ìý
  • Our Athletic Union sports teams will still have access to facilities at the Etihad Campus, Curzon Ashton, and Belle Vue Sports Village for training and BUCS fixtures Ìý
  • Manchester city centre will continue to be the home of our Student Library, Study Hub and Student Support Services at Piccadilly Place Ìý
  • As part of our Manchester Campus expansion, we are developing a new programme of premier events at Old Trafford Football Stadium and Etihad Stadium.Ìý

These premier events will include summit days with industry-leading guest speakers, unrivalled stadium experiences, career-focused events, trade conferences, and partner events.Ìý

In addition to this, we are developing new employer-led partnerships which will improve your learning outcomes and employment opportunities.Ìý

Whilst we will have regular access to the Old Trafford Football Stadium and Etihad Stadium for Premier Events, the Etihad Stadium will no longer be used for day-to-day teaching purposes.Ìý

The day-to-day teaching which currently takes place at the Etihad Stadium will be relocated to our other dedicated ¹ú²úÎÞÂë Manchester facilities, to ensure that day-to-day teaching of all our degree programmes will not be subject to match and event closures.Ìý
